Amnesty International has called on the authorities to investigate the alleged killing of #EndBadGovernance protesters in Kano, Northwest Nigeria.
Following reports and videos circulating on social media, Amnesty International has urged a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident. The organisation expressed its concerns in a post on its official X handle:
“Amnesty International urges the Nigerian authorities to effectively and impartially investigate the killing of at least 10 peaceful hunger protesters by the police at some locations in Kano — including Kurna and Kofar Nasarawa. Some of those killed were children chanting ‘peace’.”
The call for investigation follows a growing outcry over the deaths, with many Nigerians demanding justice for the victims.
