President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the first set of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The 20 buses, produced locally by Innoson Motors, are part of government efforts to alleviate transportation challenges, especially in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following the removal of fuel subsidy on May 29, 2023.
Five of these buses were presented at the event on Monday, where President Tinubu took a break from the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting to officially launch them.
The provision of these CNG buses was a response to demands by the organised Labour movement, and Innoson Motors CEO, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, assured that more CNG vehicles would soon be available in various cities across the country.
