Former Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central District in the 8th Senate, has reacted to the news of Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, taking an indefinite leave of absence.
Ngelale announced on Saturday that he had submitted a memo to the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Friday, informing him of his decision to step down temporarily. In addition to his media advisory role, Ngelale also resigned, for the time being, as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
Ngelale indicated that he took the absence to deal with urgent medical difficulties impacting his immediate family.
In response, Shehu Sani posted on his official X account, claiming that the leave would allow Ngelale to rest, disconnect from work, and even “regain his weight.”
Sani wrote, “Ajuri can now rest well, sleep well, eat well, switch off his phone, and even add some weight.”
Ngelale was appointed as Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity on August 1, 2023.
