The civil defence in Algeria has reported a death toll of six in the recent flooding in the southern part of the country.
According to reports, the bodies of four individuals aged between 10 and 59 were found in Tamanrasset, Naama and Bechar provinces in Algeria.
These fatalities were in addition to the initial two deaths reported on Friday due to heavy rainfall and extensive flooding in various areas of Southern Algeria.
Authorities stated that several trapped families were rescued.
The regions impacted by the flooding in southern Algeria and Morocco, where authorities have confirmed at least 18 fatalities, are typically dry.
