Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu congratulated his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, on his 60th birthday, commending him as a dependable, dynamic, supportive, and dedicated partner. Hamzat will mark his 60th birthday on Thursday.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu hailed Hamzat as a brilliant ally and trusted collaborator on the Greater Lagos Agenda.
The governor emphasised that the harmonious relationship between himself and his deputy has contributed to effective governance and the provision of democratic benefits to the people of Lagos over the past five years.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the residents of Lagos State, as well as the Governor’s Advisory Council, leaders, and members of the All Progressives Congress, I rejoice in celebrating my esteemed friend and brother on his 60th birthday.
“I have known Dr. Obafemi Hamzat for over two decades. He is a brilliant, exemplary administrator, an experienced technocrat, and a politician. The deputy governor’s 60th birthday is a cause for celebration due to his immeasurable contributions to Lagos State and Nigeria. He has dedicatedly served in various private and public roles, locally and internationally, for over thirty years.”
“As Dr. Obafemi Hamzat joins the ranks of those in their sixties, I pray that God will grant him sustained good health, empowering him to offer further service to humanity, Lagos State, and Nigeria,” Sanwo-Olu remarked.
Hamzat previously held the position of Lagos State Commissioner for Science and Technology during Chief Bola Tinubu’s administration. He also served as Commissioner for Works during Babatunde Fashola’s tenure in the state.
