The Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Major General Garba Wahab (Rtd), has praised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its significant contribution to combating corruption in Nigeria. He made the remarks during the inauguration of the Executive Leadership and Strategic Management Course 1/2024 in Abuja.
Wahab highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration, stating that the Centre focuses on bringing together individuals from various organisations to equip them with the tools to improve their performance and decision-making.
“If you procure results for your child, it is corruption,” Wahab noted, emphasising that corruption takes many forms and must be tackled at all levels.
The course, jointly organised by the Nigerian Army Resource Centre and the EFCC, is tailored for senior and middle-ranking officers. Its objective is to enhance leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, which are essential for addressing the complex challenges faced by modern organisations.
Wahab explained that participants would gain a deeper understanding of contemporary strategic management issues, critical thinking, and effective communication, empowering them to make impactful, goal-driven decisions.
The Director of Administration and Human Resources at the EFCC, CP Femi Bohufu, expressed confidence in the Centre’s ability to provide the leadership skills needed to boost the efficiency of EFCC officers. He urged participants to apply their new knowledge to justify the resources invested in their training.
