Equatorial Guinea is in uproar after hundreds of leaked sex tapes surfaced on social media, featuring Baltasar Ebang Engonga, a senior official at the National Financial Investigation Agency, engaging in sexual acts with the wives of other officials, often within his office at the finance ministry.
The scandal prompted Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue to announce suspensions for any civil servant engaging in sexual relations within ministry offices, citing violations of public conduct and ethics laws.
Ebang Engonga, married and known as “Bello” for his good looks, reportedly filmed over 400 such videos. He is also related to President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
This controversy erupted as Ebang Engonga was already in custody over alleged embezzlement and now faces potential additional charges for public health violations if found to have spread sexually transmitted infections.
Obiang also ordered telecommunications authorities to curb the distribution of the videos to prevent further damage to families and reputations.
Meanwhile, social media is abuzz with speculation that additional videos involving other individuals may soon emerge.
