Suspected thieves have stolen two cows from the premises of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Testimony Parish in the Egbeda area of Oyo State, Nigeria.
In a Facebook post, the church explained that the stolen cows, purchased for ₦1.9 million, were intended for its annual adult harvest thanksgiving celebration.
The incident occurred on November 11 as the church was preparing for the celebration, scheduled to take place on November 17.
After days of searching for the missing cows, the church appealed for financial contributions to purchase replacements for the event.
The church’s post read: “Dear Celestians and the general public, these two large cows were stolen from where they were tied on the premises of CCC Testimony Parish, Elerumoke area, Egbeda, Iyana Ajia. They were meant for slaughter for the church’s 9th adult harvest thanksgiving, coming up this Sunday, November 17, 2024.
“We hereby solicit your prayers for the swift recovery of these harvest thanksgiving sacrificial materials.
“Anyone with useful information on how to recover the cows or who can assist in any way to ensure the celebration is a success is kindly asked to contact the parish shepherd.”
