The weather forecast from NiMet, released on Tuesday in Abuja, predicted a moderate dust haze on Wednesday in the northern part of the country with localised visibility at or below 1,000 meters.
According to NiMet, the North Central region will experience slight dust haze throughout the forecast period. In contrast, the southern region will have sunny conditions, a hazy atmosphere, early morning mist, and scattered clouds.
The agency reported that there will be thunderstorms and light rains over parts of Cross River, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom States during the afternoon and evening hours.
The North Central region will experience moderate dust haze, while the southern region will have sunny skies in a hazy atmosphere.
NiMet recommended that the public take appropriate precautions due to suspended dust particles.
The agency also urged individuals with asthma and other respiratory problems to be mindful of the current weather conditions.
Additionally, NiMet advised the public to follow the safety guidelines provided by relevant authorities.
It also instructed airline operators to secure airport-specific weather updates from NiMet for efficient planning.
