President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, for a three-day state visit.
Tinubu touched down at Orly Airport in Paris at 5:10 pm local time on Wednesday. The visit, organised at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, seeks to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations. Key areas of focus include collaborations in agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga stated that President Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will be hosted on Thursday at the historic Les Invalides and the Élysée Palace by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. The reception will feature formal ceremonies and bilateral meetings.
The visit will also include discussions on enhancing youth-focused exchange programmes, particularly in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.
“Both leaders will hold political and diplomatic meetings underscoring shared values in finance, solid minerals, trade and investment, and communication,” the statement noted. “They will also participate in a session hosted by the France-Nigeria Business Council, which promotes private sector involvement in economic development.”
