President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his visit to Cape Town, South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa.
President Tinubu landed at 9:10 p.m. at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Welcoming the President were the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Also present were the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Peter Opara.
The 11th session of the Bi-National Commission (BNC) included discussions across eight working groups, each addressing a key area of mutual interest.
These areas encompassed political consultations, consular and migration matters, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, the social sector, mining and energy, as well as trade and investments.
During the high-level meeting, officials from both nations signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding and agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral relations.
The Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission, established in 1999, continues to serve as a platform for fostering friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
