An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in a housing estate under construction in Dalwa, Borno State, claimed the lives of two people on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 1 pm, coinciding with the commissioning of housing estates in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, by Governor Babagana Zulum and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
According to reports from Channels TV, a similar explosion took place on Tuesday, although details of that incident remain unclear.
Dalwa, located 175 kilometres from Maiduguri, is one of many communities devastated and displaced by Boko Haram insurgents. Governor Zulum has initiated the reconstruction of Dalwa, including the development of 200 housing units.
