The All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, stated that the party’s goal is to wrest Rivers State from the PDP by 2027.
Mr Ganduje announced this at the state working committee’s inauguration on Saturday in Port Harcourt. Top party officials who indicated their support for the state’s new exco accompanied him.
The national South-South deputy chairman of the party, Victor Giadom, stated in his speech that the party is preparing to seize power in the state.
Notwithstanding concerns regarding the process’s legality, this inauguration took place.
The Exco took the oath of office from the national legal adviser.
The Exco commander commends his staff in his vote of appreciation, stating that they have performed admirably.
However, the national chairman wants to add Rivers to the APC’s ranks and make three states in the region.
Even though the Tony Okocha-led Exco is recognised by the party’s NWC, Emeka Beke is the party’s chairman in the state according to a court ruling that hasn’t been revoked, and it’s still unclear how it will impact the party in 2025.
