The Israeli military has claimed it destroyed over 85% of Syria’s air defence systems during ongoing attacks in the country, following the recent fall of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime. Israeli officials describe the situation as presenting a strategic opportunity to target Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Israeli air force attacks have targeted approximately 500 sites in Syria, deploying 1,800 weapons. According to Israeli Army Radio, these so-called “operations,” which involved heavy weapon use, were not initially planned, especially at such an intensity, and were intended for other fronts.
Recent developments in the Middle East have led the Israeli military to reassess its strategy, with officials now viewing this as a potential window to launch strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Reports from Israel’s public broadcaster Kan 11 and army radio indicate that security agencies are currently working on preparing options for such an attack, which will be presented to political decision-makers.
