The World Trade Organization (WTO) members have confirmed Cameroon as the host of the 14th Ministerial Conference (MC14) scheduled for 2026.
A statement from the WTO confirmed that the conference will take place from March 26 to 29, 2026, in Cameroon.
The Ministerial Conference is the WTO’s highest decision-making body, held every two years and attended by trade ministers and senior officials from its 166 member countries.
Cameroon will be the second African country to host the event, following the 10th conference (MC10) in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2015.
Ambassador Petter Ølberg of Norway, Chair of the General Council, noted that the final structure and agenda of MC14 will be determined based on progress made in the coming year.
Cameroon’s Ambassador, Salomon Eheth, expressed gratitude to the WTO members for their trust in selecting Cameroon to host the conference. He emphasized that Cameroon hopes to contribute to the development of the multilateral trading system while showcasing the country and Africa’s potential for investment and sustainable development.
