Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of its premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N899.50 per litre.
Anthony Chiejina, the group chief branding and communications officer, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, highlighting that the reduction is intended to provide relief to Nigerians during the holiday season.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) product to below N900 per litre, to provide much-needed relief for Nigerians ahead of the holiday season,” Chiejina stated.
The statement noted that this is not the first price cut by the refinery. On November 24, the price was reduced to N970 per litre, and it has now been further lowered to N899.50 per litre.
Chiejina explained that the price adjustment is aimed at alleviating transportation costs during the festive period.
In addition to the price reduction, the refinery introduced a special offer for consumers.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM,” Chiejina said.
“Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.”
The company emphasized its dedication to providing Nigerians with premium-quality petroleum products that are competitively priced, environmentally friendly, and engine-friendly.
Chiejina also highlighted that the refinery’s operations mark a shift away from Nigeria being a dumping ground for substandard and “blended” imported products, which have posed serious risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.
