A 26-year-old man has denied the murders of the wife and two daughters of BBC sports commentator John Hunt, following a crossbow and knife attack.
Kyle Clifford appeared via video link from prison at Cambridge Crown Court in eastern England, where he faced multiple charges, including three counts of murder, rape, false imprisonment, and two counts of possessing offensive weapons.
Clifford pleaded not guilty to all charges except for the rape charge, which was added to the indictment during the hearing. He is expected to enter a plea for the rape charge at a later date.
Clifford is accused of killing 61-year-old Carol Hunt, the wife of horseracing commentator John Hunt, and their daughters, Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28. According to previous court hearings, Louise was found tied up, and both daughters were shot with a crossbow. Their mother, Carol, was reportedly stabbed with a knife.
The tragic killings occurred at the family’s home in Bushey, a quiet commuter town near Watford, northwest of London. Clifford was arrested in July following a manhunt.
