President Bola Tinubu has extended his profound condolences on the demise of Alhaja Monsurat Bankole, mother of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Oladimeji Bankole.
The Iya Adinni of Egbaland died on Thursday at the age of 78, following a brief illness.
In a statement issued Friday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed his condolences to the Bankole family and the people of Ogun State.
Tinubu described Alhaja Monsurat as a virtuous woman who dedicated her life to community development and upheld the principles of her Islamic faith.
“Her life was a testament to compassion, generosity, and humility. She touched countless lives with her unwavering commitment to her community’s betterment. Her legacy will inspire all who knew her,” Tinubu remarked.
The President also prayed for Almighty Allah to grant her eternal rest and to comfort her family during this time of mourning.
