England and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has reportedly attracted interest from Barcelona, with the Catalan giants exploring a loan deal for the player during the January transfer window.
Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed on Friday via X that the 27-year-old has fallen out of favour since Ruben Amorim took charge at Manchester United. Rashford himself has hinted at seeking a new challenge, as noted in a recent interview.
Previously, Rashford’s openness to leaving Manchester United signalled his readiness for a fresh chapter in his footballing career.
The Catalan club has allegedly begun discussions with Rashford’s representatives to express their interest in securing his services.
In addition to Barcelona, the English forward has been linked with other European powerhouses, including AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Arsenal, and West Ham, over recent weeks.
However, a potential obstacle for interested clubs lies in Rashford’s substantial wages, with the England international reportedly earning over €350,000 per week at Manchester United, posing a significant financial challenge.
Despite this, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is said to be keen on reinforcing Hansi Flick’s squad in January, viewing Rashford as a key target to enhance the team’s attacking options.
