The Government of Chad has bestowed the prestigious national award of “Officer of the National Order of Chad” on Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali, the Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), in acknowledgement of his remarkable efforts towards maintaining peace and security in the Lake Chad area.
This honour, which ranks among the highest recognitions granted by the Republic of Chad, was conferred by the Honourable Minister of the Armed Forces, Veterans, and War Victims, Issaka Malloua Djamouss, on behalf of Chad’s President, Field Marshal Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno.
The Honourable Minister remarked that this accolade is generally reserved for individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the region’s stability.
He particularly noted the achievements of Operation Lake Sanity 2, which General Ali commanded, leading to the safe return of refugees and internally displaced persons, the dismantling of crucial terrorist supply bases, and the considerable disruption of terrorist activities.
In his acceptance speech, General Ali conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the President of Chad and the Minister of Defence for this distinguished recognition and honour. He stated that this award is dedicated to the MNJTF troops for their courageous actions and bravery during Operation Lake Sanity 2.
