The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has raised concerns over the emergence of a new sect, “ACHAD Life Mission International,” in the North-West region. According to the NIS, the group is reportedly connected to human trafficking and child separation. Its headquarters are located in Kaduna State, while its leader, identified only as Yokana, resides in Jos, Plateau State.
A circular issued on January 14, 2025, by AA Aridegbe, the Principal Staff Officer to the Comptroller General of NIS, alerted all state commands, directorates, zones, and training institutions to be vigilant regarding the activities of the new sect.
The circular states, “Intelligence gathered by the Service indicates the emergence of a new sect called ACHAD Life Mission International. The sect’s headquarters are in Kaduna, while its leader, Mr. Yokana, resides in Jos. The sect neither adheres to Islam nor Christianity but preaches the restoration of African traditions and support for humanity.”
The NIS further reports that the sect is actively recruiting members both within and outside Nigeria and is suspected of involvement in human trafficking and child separation.
Officials have been instructed to remain alert and report any signs of the sect, with instructions to arrest and investigate as necessary.
This notification is for strict compliance by all concerned authorities.
