Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, describing his administration as pivotal to Nigeria’s progress.
Wike made these remarks during the commissioning of the Naharati Rivers Ukya access road and two-span river bridges in the Abaji area council of the FCT.
Expressing gratitude to contractors and the local community, Wike acknowledged their contributions to the timely completion of the project. He noted that the project had been flagged off in January 2024 and completed ahead of schedule in November the same year.
Reflecting on the promises made during the stakeholders’ meeting, Wike highlighted that the project was ready for commissioning within the promised timeline. He assured that other commitments, such as the construction of two police divisions and infrastructure development in Abuja University, were also being fulfilled. Wike thanked the people of Abaji for supporting the project, emphasising that their cooperation had been instrumental in its timely completion.
The Minister shared his experience during an inspection visit, explaining how he had personally witnessed the importance of the road while driving around the area during its construction phase.
Outlining his broader development agenda, Wike reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving both the city centre and satellite towns. He revealed plans to commission projects across all six Area Councils within the week, showcasing the government’s inclusive approach to development.
He emphasised that the administration was committed to fulfilling its promises, urging residents not to view them as “usual politicians.” He expressed gratitude for the community’s support and confidence in the president’s leadership, describing Tinubu as a blessing to Nigeria during a critical time.
In his closing remarks, Wike thanked President Tinubu for entrusting him with the responsibility of contributing to Abuja’s development. He described Tinubu’s administration as the “light of Nigeria” and expressed optimism that the country would achieve its aspirations under Tinubu’s leadership.
