Morocco and the Central African Republic (CAR) are seeking to deepen their military ties.
On Monday, General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces, met with General Zephirin Mamadou, Chief of Staff of the Central African Armed Forces, in Rabat to discuss enhanced collaboration.
According to the General Command of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces, the discussions focused on key areas of military cooperation, including training programmes and the exchange of visits between the two countries. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the strength of their bilateral military relations.
General Mamadou commended Morocco’s contributions to stabilisation efforts in CAR, particularly its role in the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
Moroccan forces have been part of the peacekeeping mission since 2014, with a contingent of 750 soldiers actively supporting efforts to restore stability in the region.
The meeting shows the commitment of both nations to fostering stronger military partnerships and contributing to regional peace and security.
