Late on Tuesday evening, a Max Air plane with the registration number 5N-MBD, carrying 53 people, experienced a tyre burst at Mallam Aminu International Airport in Kano.
On landing at 10:57 p.m., a passenger informed reporters that the aircraft’s tyre had burst.
Previously, the plane had taken off for Kano from Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed Muhammed Airport.
However, information was obtained indicating that every passenger on the flight was safely and injury-free removed from the aircraft.
The incident was thought to have been caused by the aircraft losing the nose landing gear tyre during landing.
No airline representative could be reached for comment at the time this report was filed.
Additionally, Punch News reported that attempts to communicate with Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau representatives were not effective. Numerous attempts to reach the agency’s spokeswoman by phone and text message were not answered.
