Following the circulation of a viral video showing Oba AbdulSemiyu Adewale Ogunjobi, the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, assaulting one of his subjects, the Ogun State government has suspended the monarch for six months.
The decision was announced by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ganiyu Hamzat, who condemned the actions as unbecoming of a king.

The suspension follows an investigation prompted by the Oba’s misconduct, as seen in the video, which has discredited the institution of Obaship.
The Ogun State Government affirmed that such acts would not be tolerated, no matter the individual’s position.
