Talented Nigerian reggae singer, Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, popularly known as Patoranking, recently released his third studio album. This body of work, the “Three” album has 12 tracks with collaborations from the best of African artistes such as Sauti Sol from Kenya, King Promise from Ghana, Flavour and Tiwa Savage from Nigeria, and more.
The singer had some amazing super-skilled music producers like Telz who produced tracks 1 and 6, Ctea who produced tracks 2 and 4, Dera who produced track 3, alongside Jay Dot, Coublon and Mr Kamera who produced track 5, Mr Kameera who produced tracks 7 and 12, HySaint who produced track 10 and Killashay who produced track 11. These talented producers contributed to the overall success of the album.
Upon the release of his album, Patoranking wrote on his social media, “The boy who was in the Ghetto, the boy who came into this industry with Alubarika and the man I am today, man it’s been a journey. I thank God because I am only just starting…Thank you guys for supporting me from day one, my team and everyone who worked tiredlessly hard to bring this project to life. I love you all”
The raggae singer who started his music career doing underground collaborations with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone has since then been one of Nigerian’s renowned singer and song writer.
In a recent interview, he revealed the true reason why his album is called Three, stating that all good things come in threes hence why he and his team named the upcoming album the name. A lot of people speculated that the reason why the album is called three, is because this happens to be Patoranking’s third album.
He said; “I named it ‘Three’ the album because most of the good things in life come in Threes. Check out this year I turned 30, Forbes 30 under 30, and you know when you pray you say oh in the name of the father, the Son and Holy Spirit, that’s Trinity”
He also mentioned that his album talks about Three major things. Patoranking who claims he is the next big thing after Bob Marley says his album is about life, love and happiness.
”But here we are talking about three major things which are life, love and happiness so that is what we did with the album three,” he said.
A curious fan went on to ask about a song on the album called mon-bebe
“Which language did Patoranking use in Mon-Bebe that’s making the song that sweet, like so sweeeeeeedth!?😌😩”
He however responded and said, he spoke five different languages in his song. Patoranking revealed that he spoke Pidgin, Igbo, Yoruba, French and English
“Na 5 languages I speak 😂 Pidgin,Igbo,Yoruba,French and English”
Fans of Patoranking have actually come to his defence saying he miscalculated and left out a language which is, Patois.
“One language is definitely missing which is Jamaican Patois (Patua)🤣🤣😂😅😀”
