After scoring against Manchester City, Nigerian defender Semilogo Ajayi scored a good goal to deny Liverpool the maximum points in their Premier League fixture.
Ajayi has been an ever-present in the West Bromwich Albion team this season, being trusted by former coach, Slaven Bilic, before the appointment of Sam Allardyce.
Allardyce has also reinstated belief in Ajayi, as he hopes to drive Albion above the relegation zone.
The Nigerian and former Arsenal defender scored in the 82nd minute to put daggers through the hearts of the Reds.
Ajayi’s career started at Charlton Athletic before a hard phase at Arsenal saw him go to the lower divisions of English football.
He soon rose through the stages to the Championship where he starred for Rotherham before his move to West Brom.
Nigerians and the British media have praised Ajayi highly this season for his spotless performances despite West Brom’s struggles this season.
Ajayi’s two goals in the Premier League so far have against two of the best sides in the Premier League.
