Zimbabwe’s Minister for Manicaland Provincial Affairs is dead.
The 60-year-old succumbed to the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease on Friday, reports from the country said.
Gwaradzimba is the second serving Zimbabwean politician to die of coronavirus after Perrance Shiri – minister for Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement – who died in July last year.
“It is with a very sad heart that I learnt of the passing on of the Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs,” said sports minister Tino Machakaire in a Facebook post on Friday.
“My sincerest condolences to the Gwaradzimba and the entire Manicaland province family on the untimely passing on of Honorable Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba. We have been robbed once again of a hardworking and dedicated cadre. She was my mother and mentor. She will be sorely missed. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
“I am praying for peace and comfort for her family and those of us who knew her. May God protect us all.”
