Nigerian super kids, Ikorodu Bois, known for remaking movies and music videos, have been nominated for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2021 under the favourite African social media star category.
The group were nominated alongside their compatriot, Emmanuella Samuel, simply known as Emmanuella, a 10-year old comedienne.
Nickelodeon published the awards’ nomination list on Monday.
The award, an annual American children’s awards ceremony, is a huge one for the kids as they’ve been making rounds for years in and out of the country.
The Nigerians were nominated alongside South Africa’s Bonang; Uganda’s Ghetto kids; Kenya’s Elsa Majimbo; and another South African, Wain Van Den berg.
Ikorodu Bois, comprising of Babatunde Sanni, Muiz Sanni, Malik Sanni and Fawaz Aina, is a group known for recreating and mimicking multi-million-dollar music videos, Hollywood movie trailers and epic pictures.
The bois have made a lot of waves and received recommendations from Hollywood star, Chris Hemsworth after a remake on Netflix movie `Extraction 2’ by the Russo brothers which went viral.
Ikorodu bois were recently featured on Steve Harvey’s TV show which turned out to be a good one for them. The group last year got free equipment from Netflix to help them out in their shots.
The 2021 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards recognises the biggest and most entertaining stars across the world of film, television, music, sports, video games and social media.
The awards which is strictly by voting will see the Bois slug it out with five others.
