Ilaix Moriba, Barcelona’s Guinea-born youngster has scored his first goal for the Blaugrana.
Moriba scored courtesy of an exchange between Lionel Messi and Pedri before unleashing a shot beyond the Osasuna goalkeeper.
The 18-year old Barça B star made his debut earlier in the season in the Copa Del Rey and has gone on to feature in more games for the senior team.
Born to a Guinean mother and a Liberian father, Moriba is on the cards of the Guinean national team and was billed to switch in 2020 before the pandemic.
He is the fifth youngest goal scorer in Barcelona’s history with Messi, Ansu Fati, Bojan Krkic and Pedri all coming before him.
A number of Africans have played for the Barcelona team with the likes of Nigeria’s Emmanuel Amuneke and Segun Okunowo representing the Cules in the 1990s. Samuel Etoo, Yaya Toure, Seydou Keita and Alex Song have all represented in the past.
