The Federal Executive Council has approved over N82billion for the completion of infrastructure projects within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and rehabilitation of the Federal Secretariat, Abuja.
Minister of the FCT, Malam Muhammed Bello disclosed this known at a media debrief with State House correspondents at the end of the weekly Council meeting in Abuja.
The weekly meeting, held in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
N8.1billion of the amount approved is for the rehabilitation of the Federal Secretariat Abuja.
Other projects include those for the total overhaul of a 1,500 KVA generating plant for the Abuja Environmental Protection Board at the cost of N110million and an upward review of contract sum for extension of the inner Southern Expressway at N47.6billion.
N131.4million of the N82billion will go into the review of the consultancy provision for the Independence and Constitution Avenue road project in the Central Business District of Abuja.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, remarked that the Council approved N922.8million for the purchase of fertiliser to assist States affected by insurgency and the 2018 flood disaster.
The benefiting States, Yobe, Adamawa and Borno, would receive liquid fertiliser as assistance to farmers.
