Egypt’s national handball team have beaten Croatia in a friendly encounter in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics handball tournament.
Egypt qualified for the tournament after lifting the 2020 Africa Men’s Handball Championship.
As the topped ranked team in Africa, they did not have to compete in any of the qualifying tournaments, meaning they secured direct qualification.
The Pharaohs were drawn in Group B with two of the strongest nations in the likes of Denmark and Sweden. Egypt had faced the two teams in the World Championship earlier this year which was held in Egypt and were a tough competition to the two sides.
They are currently holding a closed training camp in Spain where they scheduled two friendly encounters against Croatia and Spain.
Their first match was held on Monday against Croatia and managed to come out victorious 31-28.
