Fans of Ghanaian Dancehall and Reggae star, Shatta wale, have long expected the release of his third studio album, Gift of God’ following its massive publicity. Finally, Shatta wale has opened up and pleaded with fans to exercise patience.
Offering an explanation on Hitz FM’s Daybreak show on Wednesday, Shatta wale pointed out that being an independent musician, sourcing the kind of artists he needs on the album has been challenging.
“I’m trying to spread my wings across the world. With this album, the features I want to do, I really want to get them. The key people on the album are what I’m waiting for now. It’s not easy to get certain artists on your album just like that because these are bigger artists who are working with bigger labels”, Shatta wale said.
He further reiterated that if he was signed to a label, everything would be working for him. He then pointed out the current economic state and how although there are labels in Ghana, the investment structure is problematic in the music industry.
“If it’d even take me 5 years to do my GOG album, I’ll use 5 years” Shatta wale added.
Shatta Wale has two studio albums to his name, ‘After the storm’ and ‘Reign’, 2016 and 2018 respectively.
