Chery unveiled its Tiggo 4 Pro SUV in Johannesburg on Nov. 24, marking a major step for its African operations.
During the event, the Chinese automaker unveiled its full Tiggo 4 Pro range, its first vehicle line to launch in South Africa, as well as their dealer network, pricing, and mechanical warranty and service plan options.
During their test drive of the Tiggo 4 Pro, Jonathan and Ethan, a father and son duo from the locality, said they had an amazing experience. “The handling is very smooth, giving us a solid and safe feeling. It is really impressive.”
Tony Liu, Executive Deputy General Manager of Chery South Africa, said there are four brands under the Chery Group, ranging from entry-level to luxury.
“And the brand we bring to South Africa is the main premium brand Chery,” he added. “Chery is a technology-driven company. It has five R&D centres around the world, with 5,500 staff members engaged in R&D. A total of 13,000 patents have been granted.”
Chery’s Tiggo4 Pro, the representative product of its new Pro Family series, is available with two engines, three transmissions, and three levels of specification.
In addition, there will be a Special Edition with the highest possible specification level.
