Omingo Magara, the treasurer of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has resigned from his position at the party, citing a lack of democracy.
Magara claimed he consulted with people behind his gubernatorial run in Kisii, Southwestern Kenya, which led to his brave move.
In addition, the former South Mugirango MP stated that he is open to collaborating with like-minded parties.
He made the announcement on Monday at St Vincent Pastoral Centre in Kisii County.
He said; “For a very long time I have harboured and ambitioned to be the Kisii County governor through the UDA party where I was also the national treasurer. There has since been developments that render my candidature through the UDA party impossible.
“After considerable reflection and consultations with my people in Kisii County, national leaders, family and friends, my political ambitions and future cannot be sufficiently addressed by the UDA party. I therefore immediately resign as a party member and as a treasurer.”
