AIRTEL Nigeria says its network infrastructure has been upgraded nationwide to ensure subscribers get the best possible experience on the mobile network and data.
Airtel Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, Surendran Chemmenkotil, made this known in Lagos on Tuesday, saying the move would allow the firm’s customers to enjoy the best experience on voice calls and mobile internet services.
Chemmenkotil pointed out that Airtel upgraded all of its 2G and 3G sites to 4G as part of the exercise to provide a smooth voice call journey and ample mobile data.
Speaking on the network expansion and upgrade exercise, he said: “Airtel is focused on ensuring that customers continue to enjoy the best experience on the network.
“We are committed to taking mobile broadband everywhere including the remotest rural location in the country.
“Our commitment is to our customers and we are focused on ensuring that they continue to get the right and the best experience on our network
“This exercise is inspired by the fact that we want to serve our customers and also contribute significantly to deepening broadband expansion in Nigeria,” he said.
Chemmenkotil noted that it has become imperative since it has a direct correlation to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and economic productivity.
Airtel has said it will continue to support the Federal Government’s initiatives to increase and expand broadband penetration in the country.
