The Governor Mai Mala Buni-led All Progressives Congress (APC) has ordered the cancellation of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting initially slated for Thursday March 17, 2022.
Secretary of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe announced this in a statement issued on Wednesday night.
The statement reads; “As directed by the National Chairman of the APC, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning (CECPC) and Governor of Yobe State, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, a purported emergency meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) slated for Thursday, March 17, 2022 is hereby cancelled.”
Governor Buni and his team had led a delegation to hold urgent deliberations with President Buhari following APC leadership crisis.
Governor Sani Bello of Niger State had stepped in to take charge of the party, but the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to recognise Bello.
Subsequently, Buni’s men regained control of the ruling party and commenced preparations for the party’s convention.
Below are pictures of Buni with Buhari. Malam Adamu Adamu, Minister of Education, was also spotted in the pictures.
