A.U Donates R2.26million to Aid Emergency Response in KZN Flood ( News Central TV)

The African Union (AU) has shown support for flood-ravaged KwaZulu-Natal by donating R2.26 million from its Emergency Fund to assist in humanitarian aid for survivors of the devastating floods that wrecked the province.

The African Union Commission chairman, Moussa Faki Mahamat in a statement, disclosed that the union was standing in solidarity with KZN in their difficult time. He also extended his condolences to affected families.

He added that the R2.26 million was part of showing their “unwavering support of and solidarity with the people and government of the Republic of South Africa during this difficult time.”

KZN province was on Monday, declared as a state of national disaster following the destruction caused by the flood, leading to nearly 500 loss of lives.

Over 10,000 South African Army have been delegated to Intervene in the situation, as more countries continue to show support for the flood-damaged state.
