A two-year-old boy, whose name is unknown, was discovered abandoned in a dumpsite in Lagos’ Iganmu district.
Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, shared on his X.com account that the child was found on Monday night by a Good Samaritan and taken to the police station.
Hundeyin stated, “This boy, about two years old, was found last night at the Sari Iganmu dumpsite. Kindly share to help reunite him with his family.”
The police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating the boy’s relatives.
In April 2023, similar incidents were reported in Lagos, including the abandonment of a day-old baby girl near a church in Ikorodu and a baby boy found in a polythene bag in Surulere. Both were rescued and provided medical care.
