The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has formally started collecting entrance gate fees at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, after a brief pause because of ongoing road work.
The FAAN stated the collection restarted at 8:30 AM on February 8, 2025, in a statement released to the public on Saturday through their official X account.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria would like to notify the public that, as of 8:30 am on February 8, 2025, the Authority has formally commenced collecting access gate fees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.”

Citing difficulties brought on by airport construction, the authority previously suspended fee collection on January 24, 2025.
The FAAN declared that “the collection was suspended on the 24th of January due to the inconvenience caused by the road construction.”
The move was made to alleviate traffic congestion for airport road users.
“The suspension would be in place from Friday, January 24, 2025, until Friday, February 7, 2025,” the statement read.
