The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reaffirmed Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party.
In a judgment delivered by Justice Hamma Barka, a three-member panel declared that its earlier decision on November 13, 2024, recognising Abure as chairman, remains valid and unchallenged by any court.
The ruling came during judgments on appeals filed by Senator Esther Nenadi Usman and the caretaker committee, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The court clarified it did not address the party’s leadership dispute, stating such matters are non-justiciable.
It further declared the High Court’s October 8, 2024, decision, which challenged Abure’s position, null and void due to lack of jurisdiction.
Relying on its prior judgment, the appellate court confirmed Abure as the recognised National Chairman. Further updates are anticipated.
