AC Milan bounced back from last weekend’s loss to Atalanta with a 2-0 victory over Venezia as Serie A action resumed on Sunday.
Fixtures were paused on Friday and Saturday due to the funeral of Pope Francis in Rome, but Milan got the round underway with an early boost. Christian Pulisic fired them into the lead just five minutes into the match, settling early nerves.
Despite dominating possession, Milan were made to wait until the dying moments to seal the result. Santiago Gimenez struck in the fifth minute of added time to confirm the win.

The result keeps Milan in ninth place with 54 points, as they continue to chase a strong finish to the season. It capped off a positive week for Stefano Pioli’s side, who also secured a place in the Coppa Italia final by knocking out city rivals Inter Milan on Wednesday.
Venezia, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone, sitting third from bottom. They are now just a point adrift of Lecce, who face third-placed Atalanta later on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Gabriel Strefezza scored the decisive goal as Como edged out Genoa 1-0 in a meeting between two former Arsenal stars now in the dugout — Cesc Fabregas and Patrick Vieira.
In Sunday’s later fixtures, league leaders Inter are set to host Roma, while second-placed Napoli welcome Torino in a bid to keep pace at the top.
