Tammy Abraham’s stoppage-time winner crowned AC Milan as the Italian Super Cup champions, overturning a two-goal deficit to defeat archrivals Inter Milan 3-2 in Riyadh on Monday.
Inter seemed poised to clinch a fourth consecutive Super Cup title after Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi netted either side of the break. However, Milan staged a remarkable second-half comeback, echoing their semi-final triumph over Juventus.
Theo Hernandez sparked Milan’s revival with a sublime free-kick in the 52nd minute. Christian Pulisic then levelled the score with ten minutes remaining before Abraham sealed the victory in the 93rd minute, securing Milan’s first Super Cup title since 2016.
The match added to Inter’s woes, as they lost midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to injury in the first half. Meanwhile, Milan celebrated their eighth Super Cup triumph, equaling Inter’s tally and inching closer to Juventus’ record of nine titles.
