Black students at South Africa’s Jan Vilion School have accused school officials of racism.
South African Journalist Dianne Hawker told News Central that a fight ensued among a group of teenagers last Friday.
According to her, black students complained that authorities penalized them while white students were left unpunished.
Panyeza Lucefi, a member of the Executive Council for Education, visited the school and announced that classes would be postponed and that the South African Human Rights Commission would launch an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, South African security forces fired rubber bullets during a migrant worker protest in Johannesburg on Sunday.
