Senegal score a 97th-minute panty to defeat a resolute Zimbabwean team in Baffouma, in the first match of Group B.
The Senegal team was the better side for large durations, although hardly asserted control against their less illustrious opposition.
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane was lively in the game as he worked to crack a resolute Warriors team. He was however guilty of missing a good chance after working through bodies of Zimbabwean defenders only to direct a poor shot at the goalkeeper.
Mane was also at the centre of another move some minutes later after serving a chance on the plate for PSG midfielder and skipper, Idrissa Gueye only for the former Everton man to fluff his lines.

The second half was less eventful than the first, as Zimbabwe grew better into the game, and threatened on occasions. They’d however succumb at the death after conceding a late disappointing penalty.
Mane blasted home from the spot to give the Lions of Teranga a victory in their first game in Cameroon.
