Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has called on Nigerians from all walks of life to continue supporting the team as they aim to secure all three points against the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday evening.
The Elephants, who are currently at the top of the group, will seek to secure an early ticket to the Round of 16 by defeating Nigeria at the newly-built Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Ebimpe.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles, three-time champions and among the leaders in podium appearances, are determined to secure all points and enhance their chances of advancing to the knockout rounds.
Troost-Ekong emphasised the team’s appeal to Nigerians worldwide for support, stating that their primary objective is to reach the knockout rounds and then push forward strongly.
Defender Kenneth Omeruo also acknowledged the expected challenge, noting that the Ivorians, being the hosts and currently leading the group, will provide tough opposition. However, Omeruo expressed confidence in the Nigerian team’s aspirations and belief in their abilities.
