Exclusive information from GHANAsoccernet.com confirms that Ghana will be hosting Angola for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications at Kumasi’s Baba Yara Stadium.
The Black Stars are set to play a double-header against Angola, with the first match to be played in Kumasi, followed by the reverse match in Angola.
The third match of the qualification round will take place on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Baba Yara Stadium, which has been confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Initially, the match was scheduled to take place at Cape Coast Stadium, the only venue that met CAF’s standards for international matches. However, following a later inspection, the Baba Yara Stadium has been approved as a venue for hosting international matches.
The Black Stars’ last game in Kumasi was the 2022 World Cup playoff first leg against Nigeria in March last year. Ghana is currently leading Group E of the qualifiers after winning 3-0 against Madagascar and drawing 1-1 with the Central African Republic in two rounds of matches.
