Al Ahly, African club champions have arrived Doha ahead of their Club World Cup outing.
The Egyptians arrived Doha with their full squad, and went straight to get tested for COVID-19.
Al Ahly will be playing the entire tournament in a bubble, with preventive standards set already to limit the spread of the disease.
Al Ahly defeated Zamalek to emerge African club champions for the first time in seven years.
Ahly’s South African coach, Pitso Mosimane said they are ready for the competition and hope to play against Bayern Munich, who won the UEFA Champions League.
“We are delighted to be in Qatar for this exciting tournament. There are many Al Ahly fans in Doha – and we are looking forward to having their support in our match against Al Duhail. This will be a great test for us as we aim to qualify for the semi-finals and a match against Bayern Munich, ” Mosimane said.
