The African Union on Tuesday condemned the explosions that rocked Uganda’s capital Kampala, killing at least six people.
The bloc’s chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat said on Twitter that, “The African Union stands in total solidarity with the people and Government of Uganda following terrorist attacks in Kampala that I condemn in the strongest terms,”
He added; “Our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes for a full recovery to the injured,”
Dozens were also injured in the suicide blasts on Tuesday near the parliament, and the city’s police headquarters.
The Police say terrorists of the Allied Democratic Forces a group active in both Uganda and neighbouring Congo are responsible for the attack.
Proceedings in parliament were called off and lawmakers were advised not to come to the building following the attacks.
