More than 500 participants, including over 60 foreign affairs ministers of the European Union and the African Union are meeting in Kigali for the AU-EU ministerial meeting.
It’s the first summit that will be hosted since January 2019.
Ministers are expected to exchange views on the European Union – African Union partnership and how to strengthen cooperation.
According to the agenda, discussions will revolve around various topics including the response to and recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic as well as building resilience.
Other areas of interest are investing in the digital and green transitions, peace, security and global governance, migration and mobility, education, science, technology and skills development.
